Battle of the leeks: Fierce competition at Coldstream Flower Show

A BRIGHT sunny day ensured a large turnout for Coldstream’s annual flower show.

There was a bumper crop of entries, with lots of new exhibitors giving the judges plenty to do.

A big thank you to all who participated in the show: a special mention to the pupils of Coldstream Primary School who excelled with the number and quality of their entries - thanks to the staff as well; plus Coldstream Brownies for their excellent entries; all who helped in many ways to make the show a success and a special thanks to Coldstreamer Steven Bell for presenting the Silver Cups and prizes to all the winners.

Mathieson; Home Silver Challenge Cup for most points in horticultural section - Mr A. Borthwick; Murray Silver Challenge Cup for most points in the flower section - Mr A. Borthwick; Peter Ross Silver Challenge Cup for most points in vegetable section - Mr J. Pigg; Tom Smart Silver Challenge Cup for best single rose in show - Mrs E. Home; Waring Silver Challenge Cup for most points in floral art section - Mrs L. Lillie; Campbell Silver Challenge Cup for most points in dahlia section - Mr A. Borthwick; Trotter Silver Challenge Cup for best selection of vegetables - Mr J. Pigg.
