Ayton and Reston Primary School pupils have achieved their Level 1 Rights Respecting Schools Award, the assessors really impressed with the children at both schools who gave them a tour of the schools.

The assessors commented that the children at all ages and stages had a very good understanding of children’s rights and they were also very articulate in explaining how rights affect them and their lives. The assessors also pointed out that the nursery was a model of good practice as the children knew all about their right to play and their right to have a voice and how this affects them in the nursery. They were also impressed at the quality of displays around the schools and how every aspect of school life links to children’s rights.
