Edinburgh University student Allison Flockhart, of Eyemouth, raised more than £600 for Alzheimer Scotland after completing a 150ft-high zipline challenge across the River Clyde on Saturday.
Allison Flockhart was inspired by her grandad James Flockhart to take up the challenge to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s across Scotland.
Alzheimer’s affects almost 1 million people currently in the UK and Allison’s grandad was diagnosed with dementia more than five years ago, and has deteriorated rapidly since.
He is currently being cared for in Orchard House in Tweedmouth after spells in Saltgreens and Cauldshiels.
Before diagnosis, he was an active member of the community throughout Berwickshire and Northumberland through bowling, Eyemouth Clachan Burns club and working at the FMA.
Allison has raised over £600 for Alzheimer Scotland and would like to thank everyone who has generously donated so far. Her Just Giving page is still open for anyone who would wish to add to this total. http://www.justgiving.com/Allison-Flockhart?utm_id=26
