Despite the recent wet weather there was a high standard of entries in the flower and vegetable classes at Duns Flower Show on Saturday.

Although the weather resulted in fewer entries in these sections, the judges reported that the standard was very high.

Alistair Common proved to be the top exhibitor winning no less than nine of the major trophies.

The organisers were very pleased with the rise in entries for the industrial section with the trophy for most points going to M. Cranston.

The Anthony Challenge Cup for best exhibit in pot plants - A. Common. The Carson Pringle Challenge Cup for most points in cut flowers - A. Common. Society Trophy for pot plants - A. Common. G. and C. Trophy for most points in pot plants - A. Common/A Orr. The Gibb Shield for best exhibit in fruit - A. Orr. The Bill Pollock Trophy for best exhibit in tomatoes - A. Common. The ‘Pringwood’ Challenge Cup for best exhibit in vegetable classes - A. Common. Society Trophy for most points in vegetable classes - A. Dickson. The A.
