ALTHOUGh he now calls Glasgow home, Chirnside accordionist Andrew Waite is heading back to Berwickshire this week as his band Tyde launch their new album at Coldingham Hall.

‘The Hidden Spoon’ was recorded in the autumn and Andrew and his fellow Tyders, Heather Gessey and Seth Tinsley are looking forward to playing their compositions in front of a live audience.

“I really hope people notice a difference from the first album,” Andrew said.

“Everything is a lot tighter and all of our playing is to a higher standard.

“Our debut got a really good reaction and I think this one deserves to get just as good if not better. You’ve got to keep improving and I think we have.”

With Andrew based in Glasgow, Heather in Hexham and Seth in Newcastle, getting together for regular rehearsals isn’t too easy for Tyde but with album launch shows right across the UK they have been practising as much as they can.

The show on Monday begins at 7pm and tickets are £6.
