Over 50 classic cars visited the Borders in 2004 during the three-day Tour Ecosse.

The “tour” originated in Holland and the cars, and included Austin Healey 3000s like the one pictured above making its way gingerly across the River Whiteadder, as well as Sprites, Alfa Romeos, Aston Martins and MGs. A series of time trials were held at various Borders locations over the weekend.

The visitors’ route took them through a rather swollen Bluestane Ford near Chirnside before stopping for lunch at the village’s Waterloo Arms.
