A Chatton farrier and his brother were hoping to strike it lucky in 1990, with a novel idea for using discarded horseshoes.

Michael and Graham Cross found they always had lots of leftovers shoes at the end of a day, after Michael’s work shoeing ponies was done.

So they decided to recycle them and, after taking out all the nails, and cleaning them, set to creating garden furniture made by welding the shoes together.
