The pipes and drums of many different cultures echoed around the walls of the town’s barracks during the Berwick Military Tattoo in 2004. Highlights of the performances included a spectacular performance by the acrobats of the Out of Africa Troupe, pictured above, tumbling and somersaulting across the hard tarmac of the Barracks square, and an impeccable display from the Agder Drillband, who travelled across from Norway.

There was also a strong sense of wartime nostalgia, heard in the Great Escape theme, and the massed bands playing We’ll Meet Again and White Cliffs of Dover.
