Red squirrels living in woods at Coldingham will not be threatened by plans to create a wild boar farm on the site, the developers have claimed. The buyers of Grange Wood, near Press Castle, have applied for outline planning permission to build an eco-friendly house and run a wild boar breeding business in the forest. Local residents had been alarmed when they heard of the proposals which involve harvesting some existing conifers in the squirrels’ habitat.
