BARK news

WE have two Millies in at the moment.

One year old lurcher type who is mainly white with a huge black spot on her back. She is a lovely girl and despite being in a kennel environment for so much of her puppyhood is clean in her kennels, and has learnt to walk well on lead.

She is desperate to play and interact with other dogs.

She originally came in when she was around six months. The owner had had her three days and couldn’t keep her as she barked when left. It does beg the question what was she doing leaving a young pup on her own so quickly after getting her.

All dogs will need time to settle; to expect a dog to be impeccably behaved within a couple of days of being rehomed is unreasonable and unkind on the dog. Six weeks is a better timescale but depending on how long the dog has been in kennels (or any other animal for that matter) it would be understandable if a bit more time was needed to settle.

Our other Milie is a seven year old Yorkie. She is a sweet thing and although she would be a lot happier in a home without other dogs all she wants is love and attention. She can be quite nervy at times and this has an affect on her house training.

A very relaxed home that will allow her a few accidents while she settles will end up with a most loving dog, full of fun who loves to play with a ball.

We have another youngster in. Nine month old Jed is a tri coloured, short haired border collie. He needs some basic training but is so keen to please. He is already responding well to the basics so has all the potential of a fantastic dog in the right hands.

We have young cats up to teenage cats. All super personalities and just looking for the right homes. We also have lots of rabbits all shapes, colours and sizes.
